Missouri Option Program
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education introduced the Missouri Option Program in the fall of 2002.
To be eligible for the program, a student must be at least 17 years old and unable to graduate with their cohort class.
To graduate from this program, a student must successfully complete the following requirements:
Pass American Government - including the State and Federal Constitution tests
Pass Health
Pass Personal Finance
Pass the HiSet Test
A Missouri Option Student must still take all required End of Course (EOC) exams
When all requirements are met, the successful student will earn a Valley Park Alternative High School Diploma and will be able to participate in the graduation ceremony. Missouri Option Program graduate is considered a high school graduate by the state of Missouri.
